After selecting a new processing platform, this issuer contacted TRK Advisors to review proposed terms and reward program features. In this review it was determined that developing a direct (not through the processor) reward vendor relationship would be in the best interest of the client and match their desire to develop and control a more customized program. Available third parties were surveyed, with final candidates selected to respond to an issuer-specific RFP. Final selection was made within 60 days, and the transition was properly sequenced with the processing platform conversion.
The direct-to-provider vendor relationship resulted in a far more responsive and lower-cost reward program, which also included creative promotional and marketing support services which would be otherwise unavailable in a bundled contract with the processor. Now this issuer has a custom program with local flavor, a true differentiator.
